THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THROW PILLOWS NOT PARTIES™

Hi there and welcome to my blog! I'm Pax and I am 27 years old. I'm an attorney by day and a homebody by night. As someone who thrives on small rewards, I have always felt more motivated to work hard throughout my days at the office when I have known that my daily reward is a homecoming to my little safe haven---an almost-always neatly organized place filled with numerous cozy, comfortable spaces to curl up with book and covered with artwork that uniquely tells a story about me from my experiences, interests, and passions to my internal struggles to identify, understand, and articulate my feelings, reactions, anxieties, and ideas. That space became a place my body could physically kick back and relax while I could process my often-chaotic days through the physical depiction of my smattering of emotions. After realizing this, it became an important priority for me to transform my house into a home each time I moved.

In the past five years, I have moved four times. And so, I'd like to think I've have had quite a few opportunities, relatively speaking, to ask myself how I could craft a home---a space I could emotionally adopt as my home when I thought, "I want to go home"---out of four walls that were not my own. Then, when I purchased my first home, I was surprised to learn that it took much longer to feel at home in my new space, despite now owning the four walls that would become my safe haven. And there was a surplus of challenges I endured while transforming that house into my home---which will definitely provide a lot of content to share with you about my many fails and learnings, haha. But then, one day a few months after moving in, the pieces that tie a room together(for me anyway) and truly express my personality were finally in place, and I instantly felt a sense of being "home." I want everyone to feel that sense of being "home" when they step out of the outside world and walk into the private space they have the privilege to control.

I created this blog because I want to help you decide what "home" means, feels like, and looks like for you. My goal is to share with you my personal experiences with decorating a home, insights into my thought process when I decorated my own homes, photos of designs or spaces that might inspire or resonate with you (or that you might hate, which is also helpful! haha), and tips or suggestions on how to tackle various decor and home improvement projects on a small budget.
